Responsibilities

A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow position is available in the Biostatistics & Biomathematics Department within Public Health Sciences (http://www.fredhutch.org/en/labs/phs/projects/biostats.html).  The successful applicant will develop and apply statistical methods for high dimensional data from mobile health or wearable computing (e.g., accelerometer) studies. Fellow will engage in methodological research in functional data analysis, repeated measurement data and measurement error. Fellow will have opportunities to participate in large-scale epidemiologic studies with very rich data on mobile health data and developing cutting-edge statistical methods to address new challenges in these data. 

Qualifications

Suitable applicants should have a PhD or equivalent degree in Statistics or Biostatistics. Strong theoretical, computational, and communication skills are desired. Knowledge and experiences in nonparametric smoothing, functional data analysis and measurement error are preferred.  In particular, a successful candidate should be able to write efficient programs in R and/or C. The position is available immediately and for up to two years.
