The Sr. Training Project Manager, Clinical Research leads the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical research training programs across the institution. This role combines project management expertise with clinical research knowledge to ensure research staff are trained in regulatory requirements, operational procedures, and best practices. The Senior Manager coordinates cross‑departmental initiatives, tracks training compliance, and supports the development of a high-performing clinical research workforce. This role reports to the Director of Clinical Research Regulatory Affairs and Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of oncology clinical research training programs for investigators, coordinators, and research staff.
  • Manage training initiatives as projects, including scope definition, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
  • Oversee the implementation of standardized training frameworks aligned with institutional policies, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), FDA regulations, and sponsor requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinical research leadership, study staff, and departmental stakeholders to identify training needs and gaps.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, dashboards, and reporting tools to track program progress, milestones, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate onboarding and continuing education programs for clinical research personnel.
  • Manage learning management systems (LMS) and training documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using metrics, feedback, and performance data, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
  • Lead working groups, meeting forums, and committees related to clinical research education and workforce development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in oncology clinical research, regulatory operations, clinical trial management, monitoring, or research quality/compliance.
  • Experience managing complex projects in a clinical or research environment.
  • Experience managing staff.
  • Strong understanding of oncology clinical trial operations, including investigator‑initiated studies, cooperative group trials, and industry-sponsored studies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ICH GCP, FDA regulations, NCI requirements, HIPAA, and institutional research policies.
  • Experience designing and delivering training for adult learners.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience working in an NCI-designated cancer center or academic consortium environment.
  • Expertise with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Suite, etc.), data visualization platforms, and SharePoint.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $115,170 to $182,021, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
