The Clinical Informatics IT Application Supervisor for Clinical Informatics is responsible for the support of informatics resources in their area(s) of responsibility, including clinical applications, third party application solutions and the EHR. This role maintains knowledge of clinical practice, regulatory requirements and a maintains a relationship with clinical operations and IT leadership. The role is accountable for promoting the understanding, integration, and innovation of clinical information technology to improve the clinician and patient experience. The Supervisor is required to work closely with Clinical and operational departments, IT, and partner organizations staff and leadership to coordinate resources, understand integration requirements between systems.


The role will partner with the IT management team to address cross-IT strategy, planning, and issue resolution. Collaborate with technology leaders, medical leaders, peers, and colleagues at our partner institutions (Fred Hutch, UWMC and CHRMC) to assure the provision of high quality, patient and family-centered care in an environment that facilitates the conduct of clinical research.


This position resides within Clinical IT Infrastructure and reports to the IT Applications Manager for Training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input on clinical application strategy, anticipating future technical needs to promote system usability, quality, regulatory readiness, research, and evidence-based practice.
  • Manage improvement processes by analyzing problems and presenting innovative solutions to clinicians and IT leaders. This includes workflow development that support clinicians, patients, and organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Manage and provide communications and updates to multiple levels of the organization.
  • Encourages feedback from internal and external customers, including maintaining established goals for employee satisfaction and fostering positive relationships with directly and indirectly impacted users. This includes monitoring service effectiveness, communication, identifying problems with work processes, and ensuring that customer needs are met.
  • Manages daily operational work as well as core human resource responsibilities and activities: maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; ensures staff are compliant with Fred Hutch policies and procedures; perform annual performance reviews; management of department staffing needs for daily operations.
  • Assists with budget development and management.
  • Help build the future roadmap to support and update or replace key legacy systems
  • Provide technical support for development, test, and release activities for such projects
  • Mentor staff, focusing on personal development and career aspirations, through a combination of direct feedback and coaching.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics or Healthcare related field
  • 5+ years of demonstrated and combined clinical and IT related experience

Preferred:

  • Clinical Licensure
  • Epic certification
  • Knowledge of oncology Patient care services
  • Experience in project management methodology principles with ability to document key supportive deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience in training clinical end-users of various levels of technical savvy.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience collecting user requirements, translating to system feature enhancements, and requesting enhancements.
  • Knowledge of patient care operations in outpatient or acute care and/or research setting.
  • Knowledge of TJC, DOH, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new and changing technologies
  • Strong organizational, and time management skills

The annual base salary range for this position is from $126,984.00 to $200,678.00, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
