The Vaccine Trials Unit is a program of the Vaccine & Infectious Disease Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. In existence since 1987, the VTU’s mission is to improve understanding of the immunology and prevention of HIV and other infections of public health significance. Led by Principal Investigator Julie McElrath, the VTU conducts clinical trials and observational studies.
The VTU Clinical Research Nurse implements and conducts clinical research studies involving study participants for the Vaccine Trials Unit research program. The primary location for this role will be at the VTU’s clinical research site on First Hill. The primary focus of the work will involve clinical research activity for the conduct of Phase 1, 2, and 3 trials studying biomedical HIV prevention interventions (vaccines, immunoprophylaxis, etc).
The Clinical Research Nurse works under the overall supervision of the site Principal Investigator and other protocol-specific PIs, as well as direct/onsite supervision by the VTU Medical Director. The work will be conducted as part of a clinical research team including the VTU physicians, other clinicians, and other unit personnel.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $102,419 to $161,865, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
