Lab Aide

The Lehrbach Lab (Basic Sciences Division) is looking for part-time lab aide to join a collaborative research team. The lab studies protein degradation, the process by which cells remove defective or unneeded proteins. The lab aide will be responsible for helping with general laboratory duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine work in a research laboratory under close supervision of the Sr. Staff Scientist or other senior personnel.
• Prepare media and reagents, such as stock solutions.
• Rinse and prepare glassware for cleaning, deliver glassware to storage areas.
• Maintain clean and orderly laboratory area and equipment.
• May replenish supplies.
• May assist lab personnel with experiments and set up.
• Follow safety / biohazard precautions and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduation from High School or equivalent with an interest in science.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
• Current enrollment in an undergraduate program or previous scientific coursework.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
