The Greenlee Lab part-time Research Assistant will provide research support for the VIDA project and related research studies. This position is part-time requiring approximately 10 hours per week.

 

The VIDA project is a sequential multiple assignment randomized trial (SMART) testing a 12 month adaptive culturally-tailored weight loss interventions in a geographically diverse group of Latina breast cancer survivors. The adaptive interventions will use the CDC’s Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), an evidence-based weight loss program, as the central educational component. Based on our prior work, we will adapt the DPP to be remotely delivered, include information specific to breast cancer survivors, and be culturally-tailored to Latinas. This position will assist the PI and VIDA study team in culturally adapting the intervention, as well as set up data collection tools and assist with study implementation.  

Responsibilities

  • Work in coordination with study team in development of study curricula and documentation, including written materials in English and Spanish, etc.
  • Provide input on the cultural adaptation of the DPP intervention and its implementation, as well as ethical considerations and involvement in recruitment and retention of participants
  • Assist with contacting, consenting, and enrolling participants for studies as needed.
  • Develop patient data collection tools in REDCap
  • Assist with data collection, entry, tracking, and monitoring
  • Conduct qualitative participant interviews
  • Attend weekly research team meetings and monthly investigator meetings to review and discuss study progress, and Community Advisory Board meetings as needed
  • Other research-related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in public health or related field
  • Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Highly organized with superb attention to detail


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current graduate student in public health or related field
  • Experience in health promotion
  • Background in research ethics

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $48.09 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
