The Li Research Group (https://research.fredhutch.org/haolong-li/en.html) at Fred Hutch Cancer Center has an opening for a Staff Scientist interested in prostate cancer research and biomarker development.
The Staff Scientist will provide technical and scientific guidance to a highly motivated group of early-stage postdoctoral fellows and research technicians. Our lab focuses on epigenetic dysregulation and novel therapeutics in advanced prostate cancer, using a systems biology approach.
Projects combine CRISPR-based functional screens (knockout, interference, activation) with transcriptomics, proteomics, and epigenomics to uncover therapeutic vulnerabilities. Areas of interest include androgen receptor signaling, mechanisms of therapeutic resistance, aberrant DNA methylation, and the role of mutations in TET2, IDH1, and other chromatin-modifying genes.
The Staff Scientist will work side-by-side with a team of post-doctoral fellows and technicians to plan, design and implement experiments on a variety of projects in basic and translational cancer research and perform other tasks as required.
