Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Engagement and Training Specialist will be on the Organization Development & Learning team and is responsible for successfully implementing our annual Employee Engagement Survey. This includes but is not limited to: working with the survey vendor to design and deploy the survey, analyzing results, and supporting score card holders throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management – works with the survey vendor to ensure the survey meets the needs of the organization.
  • Marketing – using various communication channels and working with internal resources ensures the survey is well publicized to garner maximum participation.
  • Communications – develops and deploys a communication strategy and plan that informs and prepares stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Data Management and Analysis – identifies a survey data strategy that ensures we’re gleaning both quantitative and qualitative information from the results. Analyzes large quantities of data, influence and support teams at all different levels.
  • Client Service – supports leaders and teams with their survey needs (access, analysis, reporting, action planning, etc.).
  • Survey Effectiveness – evaluates effectiveness of the engagement program(s) and utilize relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in objectives and methods. Stays abreast of new trends and tools in the employee engagement space.
  • Training and Education (Survey and Dept. Programs):
    • Design, develop and oversee the production of learning program materials (e.g. classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, and manuals).
    • Perform administrative functions necessary to support, deliver, evaluate, and document department programs including updates to internal webpages, building and maintaining learning experiences in the organization’s learning management system, and advertising learning opportunities.
    • Deliver and facilitate in-person and online learning experiences (e.g. classes, custom learning opportunities, webinars), utilizing adult learning theory to engage participants and achieve learning goals.
    • Facilitate group experiences including but not limited to focus groups, listening sessions, and peer learning sessions.
    • Participate in the development and implementation of internal training policies and procedures, as well as larger organizational learning initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years employee engagement experience or relative experience.
  • A system thinker.
  • Strong data analytics capabilities with tools like SPSS, Excel, Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Proficiency in content creation, including expertise in writing, content design, and user experience.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Strong project management, organizational, detail-orientation, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with people at all levels of the organization.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in Program Management
  • Strong questionnaire design skills
  • Experience implementing or supporting large, complex surveys

The annual base salary range for this position is from $86,986 to $130,458, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
