The IT Services Application Supervisor is responsible for the SharePoint, Database and Data Operations teams. The supervisor will work with the teams supporting their respective business functions using a combination of methods (Agile, Kanban). Most of the time for this role will be focused on managing colleagues to deliver on high priority projects and supervising daily operational work as well as core human resource responsibilities. The role will need to develop relationships with leaders across the organization as well as at our partner institutions to understand how best to leverage their systems and processes. Fred Hutch wants to lead the world in not only the clinical side of Oncology, but the systems and integration side, so this role should be able to envision solutions and quickly implement them in a complex multi-institutional environment.

 

The role will partner with the rest of the IT management team to address cross-IT strategy, planning, and issue resolution. Collaborate with technology leaders, medical leaders, peers,and colleagues as well as our partner institutions to assure the provision of high quality, patient and family-centered care in an environment that facilitates the conduct of clinical research. This position resides within Fred Hutch IT Infrastructure and reports to the Associate Director of Infrastructure and Operations.

 

This is a salaried, Full Time position. 

Responsibilities

Primary/Essential Duties

  • Establish and Manage Research Orders Build Operations:
    Lead the development and implementation of a centralized team responsible for building and maintaining research-related clinical orders within the electronic health record (EHR) system, supporting study startup through closeout with direct collaboration with study teams.
  • Team Oversight and Cross-Functional Coordination:
    Supervise a multidisciplinary team of Clinical Research Informaticist, who are responsible for the building and maintaining research-related clinical orders within the electronic health record (EHR) system, supporting study startup through closeout with direct collaboration with study teams.
  • Provide project oversight and coordination with stakeholders across Clinical Research Team, Pharmacy, and Clinical Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate order builds.
  • Assist each team to manage their own backlog of work and set priorities. Lead daily management system activities including daily huddles, development of performance metrics and problem-solving efforts.
  • Develop standard work for each team and ensure projects comply with established company standards
  • Work cross-functionally with business users, IT, and other teams to ensure appropriate support of the business for each team both within SCCA and with our Partners
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and implementation of new and existing IT solutions
  • Analyze and prepare recommendations to address existing and potential trouble areas in technical solutions and data/information processes across the organization
  • Oversee development and support of clinical interfaces using the CorePoint HL7 engine
  • Oversee secure file transfers using the Go Anywhere product
  • Oversee SharePoint support, governance, O365 efforts
  • Oversee Database administration team operations.
  • Help build the future roadmap to support and update or replace key legacy systems
  • Provide technical oversight to development, test, and release activities for such projects
  • Mentor staff, focusing on personal development and career aspirations, through a combination of direct feedback and coaching.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a specific IT discipline
  • Knowledge of and working experience with heterogeneous information technology architectures
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Independent decision-making analysis skills

  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

Preferred:

  • Familiar with network design, operations, and support
  • Familiar with technical designs
  • Knowledge of and working experience with system operations
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations
  • Familiar with Agile software development
  • Healthcare environment experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of hospital billing, ADT and HL7 interfaces

The annual base salary range for this position is from $124,488 to $196,747, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.  

 

This position will be located in the Greater Seattle area, and may qualify for relocation.
