The Collisson lab at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Research Intern - Temporary to learn and work on a data analysis research project.

This part-time summer internship will work under the direction of Dr. Collisson, the lab manager, and other research staff. This student will assist with ongoing laboratory studies and will help members of the research team with computational biology tasks related to data migration and organization of patient imaging data and assessment of tumor biomarkers from patient plasma samples. 

 

This position will provide an opportunity to learn about cancer biology and genomics as applied to research. Fred Hutch is a unique place to work, with more than 300 faculty involved in a variety of research goals, working toward the elimination of cancer and related diseases as causes of human suffering and death.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research staff to obtain data from various institutions
  • Assist with a RedCap database build
  • Enter data into RedCap
  • Manage patient sample inventory
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have high-school diploma or GED.
  • Must be currently enrolled as undergraduate student in university or community college institution.
  • Applicants must have excellent computer skills, including the ability to use MS Office suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent work ethic are required.
  • Applicant must be flexible and able to work independently without supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Majors such as Biology, Chemistry, Computer science, Biomedical engineering, Computational Biology or other related discipline.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
