Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Setty Lab at the Fred Hutch is a computational biology lab focused on developing computational tools and methods for analysis of high throughput single-cell genomics data. We work in extensive collaborative partnerships with bench scientists to tackle questions related to cellular differentiation, lineage decisions, regulatory mechanisms, tumorigenesis and emergence of metastasis. The Setty Lab at Fred Hutch is seeking a temporary Research Intern.

Responsibilities

  • PCR amplification of custom gene targets from pre-existing cDNA and primers
  • Amplicon quantification will be performed using gel electrophoresis
  • Implement, apply and evaluate tools to process, integrate, batch-correct and visualize single-cell genomics data
  • Interpret the data and explain the results in research discussion with experimental collaborators 

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have high-school degree or GED.
  • Must be currently enrolled as undergraduate student.
  • Demonstrated interest in science

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
