Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The purpose of this internship is to provide training to students who would like to pursue a career in research. The Intern, Research - Temporary Part-Time will gain hands-on experience in basic skills.

 

 

Intern is expected to work 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

The intern will be trained in a range of skills and techniques, depending on the project assigned. Under the guidance of a mentor, the intern will learn statistical fundamentals and some of the following skill sets:  

  • Data analysis
  • Data interpretation
  • Statistical theory

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently a high school graduate or equivelent.
  • Good communication skills and an interest in learning.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Good numeracy, literacy and organizational skills.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences, Engineering/Data Sciences, Business Analytics, Statistics, Public Health, or like disciplines.
  • Interest in statistics.
  • Interest in biostatistics.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.76 to $29.54 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.  

 

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked), and prorated paid holidays (up to 11 days per year).
