The APP Senior Program Manager of Adult Survivorship will lead the disease-based Survivorship Program efforts at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center for adult patients with cancer who have not been treated with a bone marrow transplant. Reporting directly to the Director of APPs and the Co-Directors of the Survivorship Program, this role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive disease-based survivorship care, focusing on the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of survivors. The APP Sr. Program Manager will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care and to enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Leadership and Management:
    • In collaboration with the Co-Directors of the Survivorship Program as well as the Director of Supportive Care Services, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Director of APPs, Senior Vice President of the Clinical Research Division, and Service Line Managers, provide strategic leadership to develop embedded survivorship programs for disease-based clinics in adult (non BMT) oncology at Fred Hutch, as a supplement to the existing standalone Survivorship Clinic.
    • Provide critical input to identify key resource requirements to build and sustain adult cancer survivorship programs embedded within disease-based clinics
  • Identify and follow metrics to gauge program success
  • In collaboration with clinical directors, APPs and nurses within the disease programs:
    • Help define the scope of and standards for adult cancer survivorship care that is common to all disease programs
    • Help coordinate the integration of survivorship care across all oncology services, identifying the aspects of care that are unique based on disease type
  • Work collaboratively with the Associate Medical Director of the Survivorship Clinic to enhance survivorship care and services across Fred Hutch.
  • Clinical Care:
    • Approximately 25% of this role will involve direct clinical care including:
    • Participating in the management of patients with active cancer
    • Participating as a provider in the survivorship clinic, guiding survivors to wellness after treatment
  • Outreach
    • Participate in Survivorship Program events that address the needs of cancer survivors both within the cancer center and in the broader community. Including but not limited to:
    • Speaking to diverse groups about the benefits of cancer survivorship care
    • Establishing partnerships with community organizations to expand resources for survivors and to elevate the visibility of the Fred Hutch Survivorship Program
    • Collaborating with philanthropy to identify and cultivate resources to support survivorship-based programs
  • Education/Training/Mentorship
  • Participate in education and training programs organized by the Survivorship Program for patients, caregivers, and health care professionals (APPs, nurses, physicians, staff) regarding cancer survivorship care
  • Quality Improvement:
    • In collaboration with the co-Directors of the Survivorship Program, the Associate Medical Director of the Survivorship Clinic, the CMO, SVP and service line managers, monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and patient outcomes
    • Help implement evidence-based practices and update protocols to improve embedded survivorship care within selected disease-based clinics.  
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of WA or eligible to become licensed prior to start date
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • Bachelors degree in nursing or related area required
  • 5+ years experience as PA or NP
  • 3+ years leading programs
  • 1 year ARNP or PA-C experience in Medical Oncology or BMT required
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience required
     
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in nursing or relevant degree
  • 7+ years experience as an APP
  • Experience leading staff in an academic medical center
  • Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) experience preferred

The annual base salary range for this position is from $137,259.20 to $216,923.20 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.  

 

This position may be eligible for relocation assistance.
