Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Strategy and Planning team is collectively responsible for supporting the Fred Hutch strategic plan development and execution, partnering with leaders throughout the organization to identify critical priorities and opportunities to further the Fred Hutch mission, and supporting the reporting needs to monitor progress on these efforts. The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for leading strategic analytics for the strategy division, working closely with Business Development, Strategic Outreach, Service Line Management, the Enterprise Project Management Office, and UW Medicine Strategy. This individual is a critical member of the strategy team who identifies the needs for analyses based on business questions, plans out analytic approaches, and executes on these plans with partnership from the other members of the Strategy and Planning Team.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements analytic plans for key strategic priorities, including strategic planning, business planning, and program development. 
  • Supports unique projects for the Strategy Division in areas of business development, marketing, outreach, service line initiated priorities, and other strategy needs.
  • Facilitates regular requirement gathering and design sessions to capture and communicate stakeholder needs and expectations. 
  • Drives authoring / co-authoring business cases; identifies opportunities for future enhancements and modifications.
  • Leads analytics for senior management around volume, areas of growth, and underlying factors driving changes. 
  • Expert in activity measures, interpretation, reporting
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • BA in Business Administration, Knowledge management or related field, or equivalent years of experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of data, analyze and draw conclusions, and create a visual representation to communicate and clarify the data story.
  • Has a broad and deep knowledge of healthcare data and is able to apply research data concepts (DRG, LOS, FTE, treatments, enrollments, etc).
  • Demonstrates competent consulting skills and experience to bridge the gap between data analytics and business operations to enable departments to make effective decisions. 
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skill level (pivot tables, graphs, formulas).
  • Expertise in Epic data and reporting.
  • Expertise in Tableau and other data visualization tools.
  • Advanced SQL capabilities. 
  • Experience managing multiple requests with competing prioritization.

Preferred:

  • Master's in Business, Knowledge Management

The annual base salary range for this position is from $95,888.00 to $143,811.00 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
