The Sourcing Specialist I is a member of a dynamic team and acts as a professional liaison for the Supply Chain team, and other Fred Hutch departments. The role uses critical thinking skills to facilitate complex sourcing requests. This role will procure and source medical supplies to meet departmental needs and support departmental strategic sourcing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the sourcing of medical supplies for Fred Hutch in collaboration with clinical end users, Fred Hutch Clinical Purchasing, Inventory and Logistics.
  • Coordinates with customers to determine requirements for substitute or back ordered product.  Provide customers with alternate medical supply options and supports product substitutions. Helps manage back orders and supply chain issues as they arise.
  • Reviews daily Vendor reports and takes appropriate action.
  • Communicates with key vendors. Partners with vendors to ensure vendors meet service expectations.
  • Helps determine preferred products and vendors by collecting and reviewing organizational preference and financial impact.
  • Coordinates and proactively communicates with other members of the Supply Chain Department to ensure optimal service delivery levels are met.
  • Prepares electronic requisitions that are procedurally  correct. Assures contract and/or specification compliance.
  • Takes lead in sourcing new or urgently needed products/devices.
  • Request DED’s as appropriate.
  • Assist Sourcing Specialist II in coordinating with the end users for new product introductions, trials, and product conversions. Gather samples as required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of sourcing or 1 year of health care supply chain experience.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Specialized procurement and contract reviewing knowledge.
  • Facilitation of special projects.
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $68,162.00 to $102,211.00 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
