The PFS Coordinator Lead will provide assistance to the supervisor and/or manager for the day-to-day operations of the Financial Coordinator staff. This includes guidance, instruction, training and on-going monitoring of work flow and work load. The lead will serve as a primary contact for the unit.

 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial training for all new Financial Coordinators.
  • Conduct on-going needs based training to existing Financial Coordinators.
  • Assist with the monitoring of staff performance and provide appropriate feedback to supervisor or manager.
  • Identity training and performance/process improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for identifying potential risk issues and notifying supervisor or manager appropriately.
  • Act as a resource regarding the financial clearance process.
  • Collaborate and respond to patient, provider, and other staff’s concerns and complaints in a timely and appropriate manner; escalate as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of payor prior authorization requirements and payer policies.
  • Perform other duties related to the unit as assigned by supervisor or manager.   

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three or more years healthcare experience including insurance referrals, insurance authorizations and/or case management. Education in a healthcare related field of study may be acceptable in lieu of work experience.
  • Medical terminology 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function in a confidential and responsible manner.
  • Strong organizational skills, personal initiative, ability to prioritize work to ensure efficiency.  
  • Ability to work in a fast pace, time sensitive and high work load volume environment, 
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem solve.  
  • Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor degree
  • CPI/Lean experience

The hourly pay range for this position is from $26.48 to $37.70 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
