The Fred Hutch Cancer Center Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Cancer Genetics and High-Risk Surveillance Clinic (HRSC) works with an interdisciplinary prevention team and provides Screening, Surveillance, and Early Detection Plan (SSEDP) implementation to patients with hereditary cancer syndromes. They will facilitate genetic testing, high-risk screening and surveillance, along with arranging transfer of care to the disease specific oncology team when appropriate. The person in this position interprets significance & implications of SSEDP test results and provide counseling & support. They work collaboratively with the treatment team for care coordination.  All clinical responsibilities are performed within the scope of practice, institutional privileges and under the supervision of an attending physician.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and consults with multiple surgery attending physicians & other disciplines/services to ensure safe, effective, and timely treatment as well as continuity of patient care
  • Performs complex and problem-focused H & P’s
  • Participates in the conduct of cancer clinical research
  • Provides patient, caregiver, and peer education
  • Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary care teams
  • Participates in patient rounds, conferences, and committees

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant program
  • Formal Cancer Genetics training
  • Washington state licensure
  • DEA required at time of credentialing
  • ACLS required
  • Flexible team player with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of experience strongly preferred  
  • Experience managing individuals with hereditary cancer syndromes for high-risk surveillance, oncologic or complex patients
  • EPIC EMR experience
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn will help with steep learning curve

The annual base salary range for this position is from $124,488 to $196,747 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
