Fred Hutch’s Philanthropy program raises funds for cancer and related disease research, care, and education to help Fred Hutch become the world’s best cancer center. Since the April 2022 merger that led to the formation of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Fred Hutch has served as the cancer program for UW Medicine, and Philanthropy is proud to raise funds that fuel the adult oncology program on behalf of both Fred Hutch and UW Medicine.
Following board approval of an ambitious, 10-year comprehensive campaign, our team of more than 110 will grow to more than 150 over the next three years. Philanthropy staff implement high-performing, relationship-based fundraising programs that engage and inspire thousands of supporters who are passionate about preventing and eliminating cancer and infectious disease. Our FY25 goal includes increasing our annual fundraising, deepening our patient family fundraising, and advancing the first phase of our comprehensive campaign through Fred Hutch’s 50th anniversary in 2025. The Senior Prospect Management and Research Strategist role is part of Philanthropy’s Advancement Services team and reports to the Director of Prospect Management and Research (PMR.) Advancement Services supports and strengthens Philanthropy’s infrastructure and operations by managing, analyzing, and leveraging the data needed to inform and advance organizational strategy and execution. Advancement Services (AS) includes seven integrated and collaborative work groups including Learning and Development, Prospect Management and Research, Data Reporting and Analytics, Software Integration Programming, Gift Services and Data Management, Project Management and Planning, and Gift and Estate Management.
This position contributes to the maintenance and growth of comprehensive prospect management and prospect research best practices. Metrics accountability, strategy coordination with fundraisers, and thoughtful management of prospects through the Philanthropy prospect/donor lifecycle are key components of this work. The position is responsible for partnering with frontline fundraisers to build their effectiveness by providing high-level strategic briefings on major gift prospects, using a wide variety of ethical sources to analyze and synthesize intelligence that informs financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, and linkages to Fred Hutch priorities.
This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $72,946 to $109,408, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
