The Clinical Research Coordinator II will provide day to day coordination of oncology clinical trials at Fred Hutch Community Sites. This includes screening medical records, recruiting study participants, coordinating study treatment and assessments, collecting and maintaining study data, and communicating with patients, physicians and clinic staff. Fred Hutch offers clinical research at 3 of its Community Oncology clinics throughout the greater Seattle area (Kirkland, Bellevue, and North Seattle). The clinical trial portfolio spans multiple cancer disease groups, including breast, lung, GI, & GU cancers, blood cancers, and head and neck cancer. The Clinical Research Coordinator will play an integral role in growing the clinical trial program at the sites in collaboration with the Community Site Research Operations Manager and other Clinical Research Coordinators on the team. This will include integrating Fred Hutch research processes at the sites (Epic research orders, OnCore CTMS, research billing processes, research infusion and OR workflows, etc). Some travel between sites will be required. This role offers a unique opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary cancer care. The Clinical Research Coordinator could work with surgeons in the operating room, radiation oncologists, as well as medical oncologists and infusion staff. 

 

This position will primarily work at the Fred Hutch Community Sites in Kirkland, Bellevue and North Seattle.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day coordination of clinical research studies including screening patients for protocol eligibility, ensuring informed consent has been properly obtained, enrolling subjects, collecting data and communicating with clinic staff.
  • Collaborates with clinic providers and staff, ancillary services, and research staff regarding protocol implementation and operations
  • Collects and enters data in a timely manner in accordance with the protocol
  • Collects and maintains regulatory documents
  • Submits reports and documents as required
  • Coordinates the study drug management process
  • Coordinates research protocol monitoring and auditing visits and takes action to correct problems such as deviation from protocol requirements to ensure research quality
  • Participates in the development of department and/or protocol standard operating procedures and tools
  • Participates in the startup of a study including things such as budget development, contracting, and protocol implementation

Qualifications

Required: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical research setting required
  • Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, word processing, and databases
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems
  • Ability to understand and follow multiple complex protocols at multiple sites
  • Ability to organize and manage time and tasks independently
  • Ability to develop and/or present content to senior leaders and other groups
  • Problem solving skills

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Oncology research experience preferred
  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (ACRP), Certified Clinical Research Professional (SOCRA), or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge of regulations and guidelines for conducting clinical research; for example, good clinical practice (ICH-GCP), Human Subjects Protocol, etc.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $30.30 to $45.43 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
