Identify strategic sourcing initiatives, drive cost savings, quality improvement, identify and improve efficiencies and support growth strategies across respective departments.  Execute sourcing strategies.  Oversees overall contract administration, compliance, and implementation of procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for originating negotiations, extensions, or terminations of local agreements with suppliers and manufacturers of supplies and services to be purchased by Fred Hutch.
  • Responsible for negotiation of key business terms related to contract arrangements, service level expectations and ongoing portfolio maintenance. Develops qualitative/quantitative analyses and methodologies to support product utilization and cost reduction efforts with the assistance of the Business Analyst. Manages and supports the customer relationships, customers include clinical leaders and team members throughout Fred Hutch.
  • Manages and keeps current with contracts throughout their duration, ensuring that departments are informed about the contracts, performance requirements, and any relevant changes. Manages many contracts for Fred Hutch providing technical assistance on options, interpretations, requirements, and benefits as the liaison. Organizes, and maintains contract records and files documenting contracts.
  • Defines and manages the supplier performance management and development activities. Evaluates and monitors financial health of critical suppliers. Understands economics, industry trends, market trends, supplier dynamics and the competitive landscape to sustain successful strategic sourcing activities and productive supplier development activities. Fosters relationships with suppliers and monitors supplier performance, development, and risk.
  • Effectively communicates throughout the organization strategies and activities related to how products and services are to be sourced, contracted, purchased, and managed. Promotes Supply Chain philosophy for implementing cost improvement initiatives and new product introductions.
  • Responsible for analyzing expenditures related to a Fred Hutch procurement.
  • Supports the relationship with the Group Purchasing Organization and primary distributors to create alignment, collaboration, and utilization of contracts/services/resources from those organizations.
  • Manages the Product Evaluation, Standardization and Safety Work group focused on product introductions, value analysis and utilization review consistent with Fred Hutch policies and procedures. Partner with stakeholders to implement strategies that rationalize our supply chain base and standardizes products.
  • Provides Supply Chain Sourcing team with the information needed on item master changes, contracts, and pricing to keep the Censeo system updated with the most accurate data to avoid data integrity issues.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of health care experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate change and achieve savings goals.
  • Experience negotiating with suppliers.
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with all clinical departments.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 2 years of contracting experience. 
  • Minimum 2 years previous Lead or supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical skills; MS Excel proficient; financial modeling preferred.
  • Strong written and communication skills; MS PowerPoint, MS Word proficient.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
  • Awareness of best practices regarding vendor management (e.g., strategic alliances, supplier certification, etc.)
  • Excellent documentation and requirements analysis.
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $104,416.00 to $165,006.40, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
