The Greenlee Studies Temporary Part-Time Program Assistant will provide research support for studies related to physical activity and nutrition for cancer patients and survivors. This position is temporary and part-time requiring approximately 10 hours per week through August 2024, with a possibility of extension pending further study funding and project needs. This position can be performed remotely.

Dr. Greenlee’s research program uses both clinical trials and observational studies to examine a broad range of lifestyle interventions (diet, physical activity, weight management) and Integrative therapies for cancer prevention and control, especially in under resourced and vulnerable populations. Our research interventions use a combination of behavioral strategies, including in-person and remote educational classes, electronic health communication, and physical activity trackers. This individual will primarily support a project developing and implementing a “kitchen-to-lab-to-table” research model to improve the intake of fruits and vegetables, improving diet quality, and improving portion control using culturally congruent curricula.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Seattle-based (Fred Hutch) and Las Cruces-based (New Mexico State University) study PI’s, faculty, team members, and facilities, to coordinate study activities, including set up of meetings, taking meeting notes, assisting in development of study timelines and organization materials, etc.
  • Work in coordination with study team in development of study curricula and documentation, including written materials in English and Spanish, etc.
  • Assist with contacting, consenting, and enrolling participants for studies as needed.
  • Assist with IRB and regulatory submission and maintenance with oversight by Greenlee Studies Research Study Manager.
  • Assist with data collection, entry, tracking, monitoring.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in public health or related field
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Highly organized with superb attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • Current graduate student in public health or related field
  • Interest in nutrition and culinary sciences
  • Experience in health promotion

The hourly pay range for this position is from $21.15 to $30.11 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
