A Research Technician I position is available in the Adeyemi Lab in the Basic Sciences Division at Fred Hutch. Anticipated start date is Fall 2023.
Maintaining genomic integrity is critical for survival. Our lab is interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of genome maintenance – how DNA repair is orchestrated in response to different types of cellular insults, how these processes are dysregulated during genetic diseases, infections, aging and cancer, and how such knowledge can potentially be exploited towards novel therapies.
The successful candidate will work with the principal investigator and other lab members to carry out a variety of cutting-edge genetic, cellular and molecular techniques in cellular/molecular biology, genetics and virology. The work will lead to the discovery and characterization of novel genome maintenance mechanisms following replication stress and will help to identify novel targets for the treatment of tumors with defects in specific DNA repair genes. In addition to performing experiments, the candidate will play an important role in the daily operation of the laboratory. The Research Technician will directly support the science, contribute to papers, and thrive in a diverse, inclusive, supportive, creative, fast-paced and learning-focused environment.
*Please include a cover letter with your application, detailing reasons for your interest in this position.
