Summary   

We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern(s) to join the Office of Translational Research (OTR) team. OTR creates environments which enable researchers and clinicians to accelerate scientific discovery and translate it into cures and research advances which significantly improve patient outcomes and quality of life. We do this by focusing on three key areas:  

1. Building seamless infrastructure to optimize and speed translational research  
2. Strengthening tumor-specific translational research programs, and   
3. Strengthening partnerships between translational research institutions.  

 

We are looking for full-time interns, 40 hours per week, from June 19th through August 28th 2023, to work with our specimen data management team. Each intern would be responsible for assisting lead data analysts in the cleaning up and standardizing of legacy data from multiple research groups within the consortium. They will also be working on data migrations and seeking ways to improve data cleanup processes.  

• Support the Specimen Data Management Tool (SDMT) Team with data migration. 
• Clean and format raw data 
• Create and update relevant SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) for the project 
• Participate in weekly team meetings and other group meetings as needed. 
• Document data sources and any data transformation. 

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Health Science, Computer Science, Information Science, Data Analytics, or similar program   
• Effective communication skills  
• Organized individual with attention to detail  
• Enthusiastic about speeding research  
• Self-starter  
• Can manage multiple projects with competing deadlines  

 

Recommended:  

• Knowledge of/Experience with Data Analysis tools such as SQL 
• Knowledge of/Experience Data Visualization tools such as Excel or Tableau

The hourly pay range for this position is from $18.75 to $24.71 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
