The Fred Hutch/UW Hematopoietic Diseases Repository is a repository that collects and stores various blood and bone marrow samples from patients diagnosed with various blood disorders or acute leukemias. We aim to be a resource for researchers within our center and for external researchers by providing valuable samples to understand more about acute leukemia. Working in this role will provide extensive opportunities to interact with scientists, physicians, and clinical research team members. The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center campus is located in South Lake Union with a shuttle bus that regularly runs between the University of Washington and Fred Hutch campuses.
We are seeking a highly motivated undergraduate student to join our team in a unique research opportunity to assist in accurately annotating clinical information pertaining to the samples. Many of our projects involve contact with other healthcare providers and present various opportunities to learn about leukemia in depth.
The incumbent works under the close supervision of the Repository Director and the Clinical Research Nurse with additional guidance provided by the Repository Coordinator and/or Study Coordinator. Tasks include:

Students that are organized, communicative, motivated, and have a strong desire to learn about biology and clinical management of cancer are encouraged to apply. Prior research or clinical experience is preferred but not required. The candidate should possess a strong work ethic and the ability to learn quickly.

This position is patient facing and/or requires access to Fred Hutch clinical facilities. As such, full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment, without exception. Booster doses are strongly recommended but not required. If declining a booster, completion of the COVID-19 Vaccination Status Form Questionnaire and COVID-19 Booster Declination Training is required. The hourly pay range for this position is from $18.75 to $24.71 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
