Temporary Web Content Writer

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The part-time Web Content Writer/Editor will partner with the Digital Content Manager and the content team to support the social media strategy, web content strategy and research projects by writing and updating content for research studies, social media, newsletters, the website. This is a temporary position from April 3 - May 30, 2023.

• Work closely with the Digital Content Manager to develop content and hone Cook for Your Life voice.
• Brainstorm, create and edit research-study content (culinary or nutritional)
• Write and edit external, internal blog articles, newsletters, and English social media content.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align on messaging, approvals, goal alignment, etc.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BA) in communications, marketing, English or a related field.
• RD certification or other formal coursework in dietetics
• Minimum of one years’ experience in a professional writing or editing role
• Exceptional writing skills, including grammar and spelling
• Ability to work as part of a team of content contributors
• A passion for transforming lives and mission driven work

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Food writing experience preferred, along with a love of food and cooking
• Culinary experience
• Spanish language skills, including reading, writing

The hourly pay range for this position is from $22.64 to $32.23 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
