The Clinical Trial Business Analyst role is a key part of our central team providing support to Principal Investigators (PIs) and research study teams who are focused on mission-critical clinical trials programs. The role is responsible for performing business analysis, data analysis, workflow design and supports a wide range of functions, including clinical trial start-up and trial operations. This is a high-growth opportunity and provides exposure to innovative and complex clinical trials in an academic setting. Fully remote or hybrid work options available.


  • Assist in workflow design and implementation for targeted process improvements related to clinical trials
  • Deeply understand workflows that generate operational data and help identify workflow improvements based on trends noted in the data
  • Work closely with the teams responsible for data and reporting functions to understand data sources and work to ensure efficient and accurate use of data; identify and close gaps as needed
  • Gather requirements and document business rules for transforming data from source fields to target fields as needed; Support the translation of business requirements into specific dashboard requirements
  • Maintain thorough documentation of business requirements and data definitions
  • Assist in the development of data collection procedures to support dashboard development
  • Create dynamic dashboards and visual tools to represent operational data
  • Ensure report and data presentation quality by performing quality control reviews, and investigating and resolving data discrepancies


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in math, science, business, or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with clinical research, or other business operations or data analysis
  • Highly reliable and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), customer service, collaboration, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, and move forward effectively in a fast-paced project environment

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of clinical trials management systems
  • Knowledge of EHR systems
  • Hands-on experience using data visualization tools (E.g., Tableau)
  • Hands-on experience using workflow management tools such as Zendesk, Smartsheet is desirable

The annual base salary range for this position is from $74,358 to $111,536 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
