Supervises the Linen/Sterilization Department, its functions, operations and services which include decontamination, sterilization of reusable items/equipment and linen stocking in collaboration with the Sterilization/Linen Manager.




  • In Collaboration with the Sterilization/Linen Manager, hires, trains, supervises and evaluates Linen/Sterilization Staff. Stays informed of current personnel requirements as set by State and Federal Government agencies. Actively explore new personnel techniques, processes and methods. Apply these principles to interactions with staff through effective communications and teaching methods
  • Supervises the Linen/Sterilization staff in day-to-day operations for the Sterilization/Linen Department in collaboration with the Sterilization/Linen Manager.
  • Assist in the annual and quarterly performance reviews for all Linen/Sterilization Tech. Keep all records and documents associated with staff and take part in any disciplinary proceedings in collaboration with the Sterilization/Linen Manager.
  • Perform scheduling of all work hours for staff, as well as providing coverage for vacations and sick calls in collaboration with the Sterilization/Linen Manager.
  • Assist in developing procedures concerning all functional areas of the Linen/Sterilization department and ensure such procedures are maintained in a department procedure manual and are familiar to appropriate staff in collaboration with the Sterilization/Linen Manager.
  • Work closely with Infection Control and Risk Management departments



  • A High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary
  • 2 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Supervisory practices and principles.
  • Exposure to medical terminology required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Sterile Processing/Central Services course and a minimum of six months experience in a hospital sterile processing, central services or surgical supply and equipment environment.



  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience.
  • An Associates degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary

This position is patient facing and/or requires access to Fred Hutch clinical facilities. As such, full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment, without exception. Booster doses are strongly recommended but not required. The hourly pay range for this position is from $24.96 to $35.53 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
