The Salama lab in the Human Biology Division seeks a Research Technician with 2-5 years of experience including lab management and mouse handling, to work with an interactive group of scientists investigating bacterial and host factors that allow the human ulcer causing bacteria, Helicobacter pylori, to establish infections, cause disease, and predispose individuals to developing gastric cancer. The applicant should be well organized, reliable, and motivated to participate in multiple levels of the lab activity.
The Research Technician II/III is responsible for performing standard and investigative laboratory work in support of scientific research by performing bench-level experiments, operating analytical instruments, recovering, compiling and verifying the accuracy of research data; performing calculations; preparing charts, graphs and summaries. The research technician, working under the direction of the Principal Investigator or higher-level laboratory personnel, will use discretion and judgment in carrying out experiments commensurate with the level of training and aptitude in support of the overall research aims of the laboratory.

The annual base salary range for the II position is from $51,901 to $73,919 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
The annual base salary range for the III position is from $65,484 to $96,349 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
