The Business Operations Director for Imaging and Procedure Suite is a member of department administrative teams, partnering with the clinical, service line, and medical leaders, to develop a collaborative work environment within and across teams throughout the organization. This leader manages business planning and assists with strategic efforts in support of overall business objectives for Imaging and Procedure Suite.  This leader provides administrative, operational and financial direction, including business assessment, contingency planning, and change management to support the execution of department vision.

Responsibilities

  • Manage business activities within the Imaging and Procedure Suite departments, including collaboration on annual budget planning, off-cycle capital and staff requests, monitoring financial performance and executing action plans.
  • At the direction of the Imaging and Procedure Suite Director guides operational leaders on related business endeavors
  • Manages vendor contracts and collaborates with Legal, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to ensure terms and conditions of the contract meet Fred Hutch needs.
  • Partners with clinical manager and Director in management of supply chain issues and initiatives, including capital equipment RFP process and vetting new supply requests with operational and medical leadership.
  • Partners with clinical and medical leaders for future space planning needs
  • Works with the Clinical Operational manager, Service Line Manager, department medical director and Clinical Operational Director to support Fred Hutch strategic plans, develop department objective and goals and manage the budget.
  • Collaborates with other department leaders on performance improvement activities, ensuring cohesion between department and organizational initiatives and realization of business objectives. Applies LEAN principles.  Monitors outcomes, reports to team on progress, resolves issues/roadblocks, etc.
  • Responsible for development and analysis of data utilized to help establish business objectives
  • Collaborates with clinical, medical and service line leaders on identifying and vetting solutions to meet annual strategic goals.
  • Collaborates with clinical, medical and service line leaders on business plans for proposed new services and programs; reviews and refines proposals, assists with presentation to executives for approval.
  • Serves in primary role, in partnership with clinical, medical and service line leaders, to create operating and capital budgets. Exercises fiscal responsibility in managing these budgets.
  • Assists with the on-boarding of new faculty
  • Partners with other department leaders in change management efforts, collaborating with other leaders on methodology, developing key metrics of success, and assessing impact of change management plan.
  • May supervise staff directly or indirectly

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree required; Masters in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of professional business, management or operational experience
  • 3-5 years of project/program management
  • 3+ years in a complex healthcare setting
  • Experience in healthcare leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage through change
  • Relationship building within department and across all areas of the organization. Build trust among leaders, navigate challenging situations, and adjust tactics as needed in the interest of achieving the business objective.
  • Facilitation to guide diverse groups through review and discussion to reach specified business outcomes
  • Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, or in virtual meetings
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Ability to work in a high pressure, time-sensitive and complex health care environment
  • Ability to provide constructive and effective feedback
  • Ability to collaborate in team matrix with all levels of management and physician leadership
  • Critical thinking and judgement
  • Data analysis, translating complex data into a meaningful narrative
  • Business planning and management, understanding budget and financial models, leading RFP process

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years in change management and supervision of employees preferred
  • Experience with operations in Radiology or Procedural field
  • Experience in oncology settings
  • Experience in research settings
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies

This position is patient facing and/or requires access to Fred Hutch clinical facilities. As such, full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment, without exception. Booster doses are strongly recommended but not required. If declining a booster, completion of the COVID-19 Vaccination Status Form Questionnaire and COVID-19 Booster Declination Training is required. The annual base salary range for this position is from $138,022 to $230,036 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
