The Boeckh Clinical Research Group in the Infectious Disease Sciences Program at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a temporary, hourly Clinical Trial Assistant I to provide support to the faculty member's clinical research projects. This position reports directly to the Sr. Clinical Research Manager. The position works with some independence and is expected to use judgment in carrying out duties under the direction of the Sr. Clinical Research Manager. The incumbent will perform functions requiring knowledge and skills specific to the laboratory and to clinical research. 

 

JOB DUTIES

 

Clinical Research Responsibilities

 

• Work directly with the Sr. Clinical Research Manager in the initiation and work related of clinical respiratory studies
• Perform clinical chart reviews
• Accurately enter data into study databases, including questionnaire data, study forms, and specimens
• Assemble sampling kits and distribute to study sites and/or patients
• Ship and maintain the tracking of specimens
• Transport specimens, if necessary, utilizing universal precautions
• Practice infection control and isolation techniques as necessary
• Maintain HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice and other clinical research training requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Program Assistant I

• High school diploma or equivalent level of work experience with some experience in clinical research and healthcare.
• Excellent written and verbal skills required. 
• Attention to detail, a strong sense of organization and ability to multitask and troubleshooting skills are also essential.
• Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access) and have the willingness to learn new software programs as necessary.
• Demonstrate a professional, positive attitude when working with patients. 
• Highly motivated and independent.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS degree, preferably in the biological sciences
• Medical Scribing experience
• Previous experience working with EPIC system
• Familiarity with medical terminology and medications.

 

This position is patient facing and/or requires access to Fred Hutch clinical facilities. As such, full COVID-19 vaccination is required as a condition of employment, without exception. Booster doses are strongly recommended but not required. If declining a booster, completion of the COVID-19 Vaccination Status Form Questionnaire and COVID-19 Booster Declination Training is required. The hourly pay range for this position is from $20.53 to $29.23 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
