Genomics Specialist II or Research Tech II-III

The Genomics Specialist II or Reserach Tech II-III will work as part of a team to provide Genomics services to the Center's diverse research community.  The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Genomics Resource Supervisor and will support day-to-day operation of the facility.  

• Apply molecular biology skills to support NextGen sequencing technologies.
• Develop and maintain and understanding of NGS technologies and workflows and provide advice and support to researcher or troubleshooting issues.
• Implement new methodologies and services to support existing NextGen services.
• Efficiently manage projects by organizing and multi-tasking.
• Maintain a highly professional demeanor with researchers and associates.
• Maintain accurate documentation of laboratory activities.

 

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences

• Minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience.
• Experience employing high-throughput workflows
• Demonstrated success in working with NGS technologies
• Experience with single-cell platforms is a plus
