  • The Courier II is independently responsible for the pick-up, transportation and delivery of lab specimens, medical records and patient related documentation among various departments within FHCC clinics and campus, offsite clinics and via shuttle service or by driving a FHCC vehicle.

  • Ability to cover all courier routes
  • Display a consistent willingness & the ability to perform special projects & work in other areas as needed


  • Performs all the primary responsibilities of a Courier I at a level above that of a Courier I
  • Maintains knowledge of all current FHCC courier routes
  • Works directly with Support Services Manager to implement and plan new processes, procedures and special projects, and other areas as assigned
  • Assists and trains new employees as requested
  • Maintains routes and changes to routes
  • Display a working knowledge of all courier routes
  • Train new employees




  • A High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education andexperience
  • Abstract of Driving Record (ADR) due (on file with the Transportation) upon hire or 30 days post hire.
  • Washington State Pharmacy Assistant License due upon hire or 30 days post hire.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to Pass the online Defensive Driving Course.
  • Ability to use effective customer service skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in an efficient, accurate and timely manner
  • Ability to communicate in person professionally and effectively and in writing.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations and record keeping practices.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of units of measure.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds using proper techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to consistently walk during most of eight-hour shift, an average of 10-12 miles per day.




  • Basic computer skills.
  • Two-years' experience in a hospital/clinic environment
  • Knowledge and practice of safe blood borne pathogen handling techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.

SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities.

Exceptions exist only for employees whose positions are fully remote, with no required access to campus. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees requiring access to campus must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
