  • The Receptionist is responsible for greeting and providing high quality customer assistance to patients, families and visitors to the SCCA Clinic Building. The Receptionist will also answer the general SCCA Clinic Building telephone inquiries and effectively direct callers.
  • Provides continuous monitoring of the building emergency response (Nurse Call System) system; and appropriately alerts and directs building response teams. Assists with all Visitors, Vendors and Interpreters. Assists Supervisor with department/building contact updates as well as continuous updating of policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Practices excellent customer service in greeting/screening visitors and telephone inquiries to determine customer needs. Assists customers in a timely manner. Serves as an effective front-line “ambassador” to visitors/callers and represents the SCCA in a professional manner. Practices good judgment in screening visitors and employees. Is alert to potential safety/security problems and appropriately contacts security and/or other key personnel as necessary. Is able to effectively handle emergency calls and /or situations. Continuously monitors the nurse call system and alerts the Code team when necessary.
  • Assists the Program Assistant with any needed back up work on special projects.
  • The role of our Point of Entry Screener is to quickly identify the risk and prevent transmission of COVID-19. The point of entry screener will be positioned at the main point of entry in the clinic. You will be asking a set of pre-arranged questions to each patient and visitor that enter the premises. You will have support from our robust Infection Prevention department and your immediate supervisor. During your shift you could be asked to assist in administrative duties as assigned…not limited to answering incoming calls, wayfinding for patients and visitors.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School graduate, or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience in program specialty or related field
  • Proficiency in the use of multi-line phones; general office skills

 

Preferred:

 

  • Previous medical reception experience and/or experience in an ambulatory clinic or health care setting
  • Proficiency with Word and Outlook; familiarity with Medical terminology

SCCA has a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and there are no exceptions for any employee who is patient-facing and/or requires access to SCCA facilities.

Exceptions exist only for employees whose positions are fully remote, with no required access to campus. As a condition of employment, newly hired employees requiring access to campus must provide proof of vaccination before their first day of employment.
