The Prospect Researcher II (PRII) role is part of the Philanthropy team and reports to the Director of Prospect Management and Research (PMR.) Within Philanthropy, the Advancement Services (AS) team includes seven integrated and collaborative work groups including Prospect Management and Research, Data Reporting and Analytics, Software Integration Programming, Gift Services and Data Management, Software Training, Project Management, and Restricted Giving.
This position contributes to the maintenance and growth of comprehensive prospect management and prospect research best practices. Metrics accountability, strategy coordination with fundraisers, and thoughtful management of prospects through the Philanthropy prospect/donor lifecycle are key components of this work. The position is responsible for partnering with frontline fundraisers to build their effectiveness by providing high-level strategic briefings on major gift prospects, using a wide variety of ethical sources to analyze and synthesize intelligence that informs financial capacity, philanthropic tendencies, and linkages to the Hutch priorities. The PRII promotes and interprets prospect management guidelines, provides training and learning programs, advises on frontline metrics goals, and analyzes opportunities, actions, portfolios, and other major gift prospect data to help maximize returns from solicitations for private gifts. Ultimately the position ensures that prospect data will meet the needs of a campaign and frontline fundraisers for a steady stream of prospects and identification of growth opportunities. The PRII works independently and manages their own workload, assists the Director, and collaborates on team projects.
The PRII role performs administrative activities as well as leads moderately complex assigned project support activities to ensure the successful delivery of Prospect Management and Research deliverables. The PRII will lead small, minimally complex projects or parts/phases of a larger complex project with the direction of the Director, Prospect Management and Research.
