The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.


The System Engineer IV plans, designs, builds, manages, and supports server, storage, monitoring, messaging, backup/BC/DR, and application environments. They also advise and support the cloud infrastructure for the business. They are proactive in finding efficiencies, solutions and driving process improvements as well as reviewing and proposing new technologies for the business.


The focus of this position will be guiding the team to analyze and then migrate appropriate infrastructure and applications into Cloud, primarily AWS and Azure. Strong automation skills with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) are required.

  • Technical and architectural authority, providing guidance and direction to the Infrastructure team
  • A primary contact for vendor management (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
  • Aware of and provides guidance regarding SAAS applications used by the business
  • Collaborates with infrastructure team, IT Architect and IT leadership to support the business
  • High school education or equivalent is required or a BA/BS in related field.
  • 10+ years of experience
