The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.


The System Engineer II designs, builds, manages, and supports server, storage, monitoring, messaging, backup/BC/DR, and application environments. The focus of this position will be on security remediation.

  • Designs, builds, manages, and supports back-up and disaster recovery systems
  • Designs, builds, manages, and supports monitoring tools
  • Plans, designs, builds, manages, and supports application deployment methodology
  • Plans, design, builds, manages, and supports enterprise desktop environment
  • Design, builds, manages, and supports messaging infrastructure
  • Plans, designs, builds, manages, and supports enterprise applications
  • Plans, designs, builds, manages, and supports departmental applications


  • Able to rapidly solve IT systems problems that interfere with or disable operations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as the situation requires.
  • Ability to identify and triage issues appropriately

  • High school education or equivalent is required or a BA/BS in related field.
