The Business Systems Analyst is a member of the Philanthropy team and reports to the Director, Philanthropy Analytics & Data Architecture. Within Philanthropy, the Advancement Services (AS) team includes seven integrated and collaborative work groups including Prospect Management and Research, Data Reporting and Analytics, Software Integration Programming, Gift Services and Data Management, Software Training, Project Management, and Restricted Giving.


The Business Systems Analyst works directly with the Gift Services and Data Management team, provides dedicated support to Gift Services and Data Management infrastructure projects, and plays an integral role in the technological success of all Gift Services and Data Management functions. The Business Systems Analyst position turns business requirements into viable and efficient technical solutions. Utilizing knowledge of current AS team processes, this position will strive for continuous improvement in data, systems, and methods. This position will deliver reports, create data sets, and share analysis insights while optimizing complex systems.


Must take initiative, collaborate with multiple team members, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and be comfortable working within a complex organization. Must maintain a high level of professionalism, be flexible with changing priorities, and remain composed under the pressure of deadlines.


  • Deliver assigned operational tasks, reports, data sets and analysis insights to support Gift Services
  • Continuously review internal processes and help implement process improvements that benefit Philanthropy, Advancement Services, and Gift Services, with specific focus on current gift coding, system integration, Philanthropy program strategies, gift processing, and acknowledgement letters
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert on Philanthropy data, database systems, and processes
  • Facilitate cross departmental communication – work with various departments and vendors to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Support automated processes by maintaining documentation library of collateral and materials
  • Perform other duties as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree desired; additional years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • Two years of experience in Finance/IT analysis required; nonprofit industry experience preferred
  • SQL server or equivalent experience required
  • Tableau or equivalent experience required
  • Office 365 Excel, PowerPoint, Visio or equivalent preferred
  • CRM Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge/Luminate Online preferred
  • CRM Salesforce, MS Dynamics or considered
  • Smartsheet preferred with Asana or MS Project considered
