Responsibilities

The Silberstein lab is recruiting a Lab Aide to perform routine laboratory tasks in order to help support a lab under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. A commitment of at least one year is expected.

 

Primary responsibility will be murine colony maintenance/PCR genotyping. Other responsibilities will include re-stocking lab supplies, processing biohazard waste, making reagents. 

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED and current enrollment in college at the sophomore or higher level, with prior introductory biology and chemistry preferred but not required
  • To be successful in this position, the lab aide must be detailed oriented, organized, capable of maintaining thorough records, and be able to work efficiently under supervision
  • Attendance of lab meetings and involvement in a research project will be encouraged
