    The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.

    This Advanced Practice Provider position will work with a unique patient population with numerous life and health challenges.This position merges primary care responsibilities with highly sub-specialized, complex care. This position will play an integral role in statewide care of adult patients with Sickle Cell Disease in the only such specialty clinic in the Pacific Northwest. This role also provides opportunities to participate in research studies depending on interest.


    • Assessment, diagnosis, and management of complex medical issues in patients with Sickle Cell Disease and other Hematologic diseases (both benign and malignant)
    • Coordination of inpatient and outpatient care, including development of individual sickle cell disease-specific patient care plans and facilitating transition back to outpatient care via visiting Sickle Cell Disease patients who are admitted at UW Medical Center.
    • Provide assistance, evaluation, and services during outpatient intravenous therapy protocols
    • Assisting in achieving standard health care maintenance goals for Sickle Cell Disease patients
    • Participate in multidisciplinary care conferences to discuss, develop, and refine patient care goals and plans


    The successful candidate will be expected to work both independently and in collaboration with other physicians and members of the care delivery team to manage diverse issues that may include central venous access, thrombosis and anticoagulation, infection surveillance and treatment, blood product transfusion, and pain management.

    • Minimum of one year of experience as an ARNP or PA-C
    • Excellent communication and clinical skills
    • Strong team player with a can-do attitude is a must! Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential
    • Experience working with patients with Sickle Cell Disease is a plus
    • One year of experience managing Chronic Pain preferred
    • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
    • ACLS, Washington state & DEA licensure required.
    • EMR experience required; prefer experience with CPOE
