    The Accounting Specialist II is an integral part of the Center’s Accounting team, which has a wide range of responsibilities relating to all aspects the Center’s finances including financial reporting, policy setting, internal and data controls and transaction processing. The team works closely with multiple groups within the Center to ensure accurately and timely financial information. The position reports directly to the Non-Grant Billing Supervisor

    Responsibilities

    • Process Fixed Price Billing 
    • Process Shared Resource billing 
    • Process miscellanies non-grant billing requests 
    • Upload invoices onto the sponsor’s portals as and when required 
    • Respond to internal customer inquiries and requests for information 
    • Work with cash receipt desk to ensure accurate Fixed Price billing 
    • Review transactions and posting for compliance with established guidelines and policies 
    • Resolves problems in recurring assignments in accordance with previous training and experience 
    • Assist with ongoing maintenance and configuration of financial systems 
    • Perform other responsibilities as required, including occasional administrative and clerical tasks 

    Qualifications

    • High school graduation or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred in related field
    • Minimum of two years bookkeeping, budget, tax or financial experience
    • Strong technology skills including efficiency with keyboard and mouse as well as experience with desktop applications including MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook
    • Ability to be diligent and self motivated with attention to detail
    • Ability to consistently and accurately process transactions
    • Must have excellent work habits, including organization and timeliness
    • Should have strong interpersonal communication skills and desire to work in team-oriented environments
    • Experience with bookkeeping, tax or financial software preferred
