    The Senior Analyst is responsible for delivering actionable insights across Communications & Marketing by leading analysis and reporting for digital engagement (product design/user experience/online donations), marketing campaigns (print/digital) and social channel/owned content performance. This position is also responsible for driving data collection and instrumentation efforts, collaborating with various stakeholders and product owners on testing and optimization roadmaps, as well as reporting performance metrics and serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Partner with functional area directors to assess data analysis needs, inform strategy
    • Translate team and organizational goals into meaningful performance metrics and actionable insights
    • Identify data sources, transform disparate data into a usable format, understand relational databases, and develop system-wide analytic solutions
    • Design, develop and implement routine performance monitoring and reporting capabilities; fulfill ad hoc quantitative and qualitative reporting requests
    • Design effective and impactful strategic reporting, including dashboards and other visualizations for both large- and small-scale distribution, and present your findings and recommendations
    • Identify and instrument websites to better understand user behaviors (internal/external) and optimize overall user experience
    • Identify and instrument key user/customer journeys to drive engagement around online giving, faculty/staff recruiting, business partnerships and clinical trial enrollment
    • Guide and educate stakeholders on web/digital/content/social metrics, data best practices
    • Drive website tagging and tracking strategies and implementation for campaigns and other efforts
    • Oversee tag testing, spot bugs and data anomalies, and initiate corrective action
    • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across platforms, reporting issues with stakeholders or vendors
    • Design data architecture by collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors and drive solutions to improve data quality
    • Provide training, documentation and other assistance to support and expand use and application of analytics tools
    • Maintain working knowledge of non-profit/life sciences/cancer/UX landscape; develop assessments to summarize and communicate evolving trends related to data/analysis

    Qualifications

    Experience

    • BS/BA or advanced degree in business, statistics, finance, economics or equivalent degree in quantitative field
    • Minimum 5 years of experience analyzing complex web and multi-channel marketing data, drawing conclusions and making recommendations
    • Proficient in Google Analytics, Tableau and Excel
    • Proficient in analysis of large data sets from multiple sources and channels
    • Experience analyzing UX, philanthropic, marketing, content and social media data
    • Experience with tag management systems/campaign tracking (e.g., GTM, DTM, UTM)
    • Conversant in SEO and SEM and how to impact results via content and website architecture
    • Experience interpreting/applying results of UX testing and benchmarking
    • Comfort reading and understanding HTML, CSS and JavaScript
    • Experience preparing data and findings in various formats (data visualization dashboards, email, PowerPoint, Excel) and presenting at all levels (peer, senior management, senior leadership) in one-on-one and group settings
    • Experience designing and developing survey tools and analyzing results

    • Strong communication skills with ability to present complex information orally, in written form, and/or graphically to a wide range of audiences
    • Takes ownership and assumes thought leadership; able to uncover and address business problems/questions through data analytics
    • Confidence in knowing when to draw a conclusion and when to dig deeper
    • Curiosity, especially when “things don't add up”
