This position designed for new graduate nurses who have been employed by SCCA and have had continued evidence of commitment to the vision and mission of the care of cancer patients and their families. The individual will provide care adapted to individual patient needs under the close and direct supervision of a preceptor within the SCCA clinical outpatient clinic. With the preceptor the resident nurse will participate patient care, consult with physicians and other nurses, and implement clinical practice according to institutional standards. Clinical care as well as patient education will be paramount to this role. The resident nurse will have engaged in formal offerings and educational activities during residency that support the clinical functions and duties pertinent to the clinical area in which residency is occurring. (i.e. infusion suites, transplant clinics, other clinical care delivery sites within the outpatient clinic.) Responsibilities include:
