    The Statistical Center for HIV/AIDS Research and Prevention (SCHARP) at Fred Hutch is a full service statistical and data management center focused on HIV prevention research. SCHARP has an annual budget of over $40 million, more than 180 employees and is currently managing over 40 active phase I – III clinical trials in over 150 clinical sites around the world. SCHARP is seeking a Report Analyst III. The candidate will mentor fellow report analysts, influence the use of standard documentation, procedures, and development of clinical trials operational reports. The Report Analyst III effectively coordinates with stakeholders to define and document requirements and specifications and uses technical skills to develop reusable and easily maintainable operational reports. Core to the role is the ability to communicate effectively, prioritize work intake, develop robust reports that provide high-performance data listings, visuals, dashboards by collaborating with colleagues and being responsive to the needs of both internal and external customers within an environment of mutual cooperation and respect.

    Responsibilities

    • Work collaboratively with Reporting Analytics team members to help define and document reporting requirements
    • Create and review standard, study-specific, and ad hoc reports with high attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate existing reporting and provide more in-depth, precise analytics to better serve network partners and stakeholders
    • Prioritize work intake by understanding severity, assessing value and estimating the effort needed to finish the task
    • Performs data mining and proactive analysis which helps stakeholders to have data-driven insights to study data
    • Build actionable dashboards, scorecards for stakeholders by comprehending business requirements to derive actionable KPIs
    • Collaborate and facilitate report requirements gathering workshops
    • Develop standardized code libraries that can be reused to gain operational efficiencies
    • Apply best practices throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)
    • Troubleshoot user problems by diving deep into data
    • Perform peer review of reports and datasets built by other programmers
    • Support development of new or updated work instructions and standardized operating procedures and processes
    • Engage with data and technology teams to ensure business needs are adequately met through appropriate technology solutions
    • Strong collaborative/teamwork skills that encourage team partnership and promote enthusiasm; Ability to influence and collaborate across various functional groups 

    Qualifications

    Minimum

    • Bachelor’s degree in statistics or computer science. or a scientific, technical, or health-related field
    • 3+ years of experience as a business analyst or related experience (e.g. data analytics)
    • 3+ years’ experience with Business intelligence tools and techniques (Data Integration, Reporting, Data Mining, Data Visualizations, Dashboarding, ETL, Drill-downs)
    • 3+ years’ experience developing reports using an enterprise reporting tool such as Business Objects, Tableau, SQL Server Reporting Services, Oracle Reports
    • 1-year experience with SAS, Python, R or Perl on a PC/Unix platform
    • Working knowledge of Medidata Rave EDC (or equivalent experience with other EDC system)
    • Experience working through the entire SDLC
    • Knowledge of an Issue tracking tool such as JIRA
    • Working knowledge of relational database management system
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a matrix management environment as a member of several project teams
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize work assignments
    • Knowledge of good clinical data management practices in health research

     

    Preferred

    • Master’s degree in statistics or computer science or a scientific, technical, or health-related field
    • Experience working in a biomedical laboratory and/or experience with clinical trials and data management
    • Knowledge of and experience in programming for scientific research.
    • Experience in good clinical data management practices in health research
