    This temporary position works closely with the Payroll and HR Operations Teams support critical day to day processes and programs. This role assists with administering the time and pay applications and performs regular review of user and data audits to ensure up to date compliance. The incumbent works under general supervision and complies with established policies and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    Job Scope:

    The role performs the listed functions for North America based payroll operations. Responsibilities are carried out in a work environment that consists of both recurring and non-recurring situations, where most functions have strict deadlines. Role involves exposure to and knowledge of confidential employee and company information. Involves a moderate degree of detail or complexity. Operates from established procedures and is usually given general directions by the manager or other members of the department. Tasks are normally performed under moderate level of supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed company policy guidelines and constraints.


    Interpersonal Contacts:

    Contacts normally occur with others inside and outside the Company. Internal contacts are primarily with other members of the Human Resources and Accounting Departments and employees throughout the company. Interactions involve exchange of information and usually contain confidential and/or sensitive information. Internal contacts are usually initiated by employees while external contacts are in response to requests for information.

     

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Execute payroll functions and ensure internal controls for monthly or semi-monthly processing of a multi-state payroll for exempt, non-exempt, union and expatriate employees.
    • Assist with audits and cross check payroll processes.
    • Process payroll accurately and timely and in compliance with all state and federal wage and hour laws.
    • Resolve reported discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
    • Administer and assist with employee issues in the timekeeping system.
    • Assist with running recurring reports and collating data for either internal or external requests.
    • Respond to all emails, written, or verbal requests in a timely manner.
    • Participate in system upgrades/enhancements and Payroll/HR projects as requested.
    • Ensure highest level of confidentiality are maintained as an integral part of role, through cognizant communications (email and verbal) and validating data requests.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to enter data with consistent accuracy
    • Able to adapt and remain positive during changes to processes and working conditions
    • Payroll filing and scanning as needed

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Has 2+ years Payroll experience required
    • Possess intermediate level skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently
    • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to provide customer service with a variety of people, inside and outside of the company
    • Ability to use discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information
    • Experience working with in-house payroll preferred
    • Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll preferred
    • Job Conditions: Exposure to computer CRT. Pressure to meet payroll deadlines. Must be physically able to sit for extended periods of time, bend, stoop, kneel, operate computer hardware/software including keyboarding. Physical ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
