    The Immunopathology Lab in the Clinical Research Division is seeking a well-organized and highly motivated Research Technician II to join the Multiplex Immunohistochemistry (mIHC) Team with a focus on image acquisition and analysis. The Lab utilizes cutting-edge technologies in a Team Science approach to interrogate the tumor microenvironment through tissue-based analyses of immunotherapy clinical and pre-clinical trials.

    Responsibilities

    • Acquire images of brightfield and fluorescence immunohistochemistry, to include 7 or more markers, on a variety of scanning microscopes
    • Carry out image analyses of brightfield, standard fluorescence, and multiplex immunohistochemistry images including spatial analysis
    • Work with bioinformatics collaborators to maximize data throughput and interpretation
    • Act as a digital pathology resource for collaborators
    • Perform immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence on automated platforms
    • Maintain sample and reagent inventories
    • Make buffers and aliquot reagents
    • Maintain laboratory records and compile data on experiments and assays in shared databases
    • Provide methods, images, and data for analysis reports, grant applications, manuscripts, and posters
    • Participate in weekly lab meetings and perform other duties as required

    Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications:

    • BA/BS in biology, immunology, or related field extensive digital pathology experience (4+ years)
    • Expertise in image analysis software, such as Definiens or Indica Labs’ HALO (2+ years)
    • Proficiency with scanning microscopes, such as Leica Aperio or Akoya (PerkinElmer) Vectra systems
    • Must be able to work in a fast-pace environment and multi-task
    • Detail oriented with good organizational skills
    • Excellent teamwork with strong written/oral communication skills
    • Work independently and troubleshoot technical problems
    • Strong PC computer skills
    • Microsoft Office proficiency, particularly design and use of spreadsheets

    Additional Preferred Experience:

    • Proficiency with immunofluorescence using manual and/or automated platforms
    • Experience with image management systems such as Indica Labs HALO Link or Leica eSlide Manager
