    We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the development of immunotherapy for cancer. The successful candidate will utilize a variety of cutting-edge cellular and molecular techniques to analyze T cell immunity to cancer. The technician will be closely involved in the preclinical development of new TCR-based therapies and their translation into clinical trials. The candidate should be capable of maintaining detailed laboratory records, analyzing data, and reporting experimental results. 


    The technician will assist in the design, implementation and interpretation of experiments involving human T lymphocytes engineered to target tumor cells. These studies are specifically aimed at identifying ways to increase the therapeutic activity of tumor-reactive T lymphocytes.

    • Perform tissue culture and molecular biology techniques: Generation of antigen-specific T cells, transduction with retroviral and lentiviral vectors, FACS sorting and expanding cells in vitro.
    • Analyze T cell phenotype and function using techniques including flow cytometry, proliferation assays, PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing, and T cell cytolytic assays.
    • Some murine work may be necessary in the future, with the assistance of dedicated murine technicians
    • Assist with the management and organization of a fast-paced lab. Other duties as assigned by supervisor will be performed as necessary including conducting literature reviews to assist in determining most suitable methods to be used in research.
    • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of written or oral progress reports concerning studies and assist in publication of results. 


    Minimum qualifications:

    • Tech I level: A bachelor's degree in a biological field and prior laboratory research experience
    • Tech II level: A bachelor’s degree in a biological field and two years or more of post-bachelor’s laboratory research experience
    • To succeed in this position candidate must enjoy working independently but be able to interact well in a team environment.
    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task, and attention to detail are critical. 


    Preferred qualifications:

    • Immunology background with experience in aseptic cell culture techniques, multi-color flow cytometry and in establishing and maintaining primary human T cells is preferred.
    • Molecular biology experience, retroviral/lentiviral transduction.
    • Master’s degree providing immunology training and/or relevant technical expertise a plus.
    • Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Prism (Graphpad), FlowJo and statistical programs for data analysis.
