    The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.


    This position supervises the Inventory Control Tech staff in day-to-day operations of Inventory Control within the Materials Management department: Must keep abreast of changes in medical supply inventory and procedures related to departments in order to efficiently carry out daily duties under the direction of the Inventory Control Tech Manager.

    Responsibilities

     

    In collaboration with the Inventory Control Tech Manager, the incumbent hires, trains, supervises and evaluates the Inventory Control Tech staff, and stays informed of current personnel requirements as set down by State and Federal Government agencies. The supervisor actively explores new personnel techniques, processes and methods and applies these principles to interactions with staff through effective communications and teaching methods. Responsibilities include:

    • Monitor performance of the Inventory Control Tech staff, which include daily monitoring, and reviewing assigned medical supply inventory levels by physical count, record keeping and/or visual inspection. The Inventory Control Tech Supervisor will regularly assign, instruct and check the work of Inventory Tech under their supervision
    • Assist annual and quarterly performance reviews for all Inventory Control Tech. Keep all records and documents associated with staff and take part in any disciplinary proceedings in collaboration with the Inventory Control Tech Manager.
    • Perform scheduling of all work hours for staff, as well as providing coverage for vacations and sick calls in collaboration with the Inventory Control Tech Manager.
    • Provide vacation and sick call coverage for Inventory Control Techs
    • Monitors and reviews assigned inventory levels by physical count, record keeping and/or visual inspection
    • Trains new workers in area operations
    • Effectively prioritize and perform multiple concurrent projects including but not limited to CPI and department restructures
    • Collaborate with Manager to resolve your areas inventory issues by generating workable solutions
    • Inventory and replenish multiple routes within the SCCA and its satellite locations

    Qualifications

     

    • A High School Degree, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary
    • Knowledge of Supervisory practices and principles
    • Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships
    • Knowledge of computerized or automated system operations
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of record keeping practices
    • Knowledge of safety practices
    • Skill in lifting heavy packages and objects
    • Must be able to push / pull cart with 400lb load, lift 50lb using proper technique
    • Ability to effectively communicate
