    Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (“Fred Hutch” or “the Center”) is one of the premier cancer research centers in the world and home to three Nobel laureates.  Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit research institution, located on a magnificent campus in the South Lake Union area of Seattle.  With the mission of eliminating cancer and related diseases as causes of human suffering and death, the Center conducts research of the highest standards to improve prevention and treatment of cancer and related diseases.  Recognized internationally for its pioneering work in bone marrow transplantation, the Fred Hutch’s five scientific divisions collaborate to form a unique environment for conducting basic and applied science.

    The scientific palette of Fred Hutch is extensive; it has over 270 research scientists and 2,800 employees.  Areas of research focus include hematologic malignancies, solid tumor biology, immunotherapy, early detection, tumor research, international research, fundamental science, cancer and prevention research as well as substantial programs in global oncology and HIV/AIDS.  Additionally, given that the eradication of cancer and other life-threatening diseases is an ambitious goal that demands tenacity, scientific excellence, collaboration and breakthrough creativity, Fred Hutch has five scientific divisions working toward this end: Basic Sciences, Clinical Research, Human Biology, Public Health Sciences, and Vaccine and Infectious Disease.  The Center has recently established crosscutting integrated research centers organized to promote team science involving members from two or more of the scientific divisions.

    Overview

    The OCM Lead will bring his/her strong organizational change management expertise to manage internal programs across the Center and execute an Organizational Change Management approach for Administration, key stakeholders and users at all levels of the organization. There will be a high degree of interaction this role will have within the program teams. Proven experience with enterprise resource planning systems and/or other such impactful implementations will be key to the success of this role.

     

    Responsibilities

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Lead the design, development, execution and management of an Organizational Change Management strategy and plan for a Center wide programs. The strategy and plan will address changes in business processes, organizational structure, and culture within the client organization.
    • Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure proper alignment and communication of an operating model, organization, business processes and priorities 
    • Establish a communications plan and strategy to ensure consistent messaging across the program and affected stakeholders 
    • Advise the program team in prioritizing recommendations for short- and long-term organizational effectiveness enhancement initiatives 
    • Bring your expertise and industry best practices to establish approaches, methodologies and tools to support OCM initiatives 
    • Serve as a liaison to stakeholders to promote program awareness and generate overall support for program activities and achievement of program objectives 
    • Collaborate with team members to support OCM-related risk mitigation / issue resolution
    • Provide leadership and coaching to the client and OCM team members
    • Implement different change models and approaches to fit various scenarios and organizational cultures

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, OD or related field 
    • 8 -10+ years of experience in OD/OCM
    • Experience leading an OCM effort for an enterprise wide programs 
    • Experience with ERP implementations with focus on human capital management, financial systems, experience with transformation efforts in a complex, fast-moving business environment 
    • Strong client management skills and ability to communicate and build effective working relationships across a diverse group of stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders across a complex organization. 
    • Strong executive presence, ability to tailor presentation style
    • Experience with MS Office tools (Excel, MS Project, SharePoint) and standard project management approaches and tools 
    • Flexible and adaptable, able to work in ambiguous situations 
    • Strong problem solving and collaboration skills 

     

    Preferred

    • Prosci certification highly preferred
    • Prior experience in directing OCM methodologies in support of a large cloud, ERP or HCM implementation 
    • Prior experience in a research institute, or academia
