    About HICOR
    The Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research (HICOR) is a multi-disciplinary research institute whose mission is to reduce the human and economic burden of cancer. HICOR faculty conduct research in comparative effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, quality of care, health care delivery, health outcomes, and health policy, with an eye towards supporting public and private decision making to maximize health value under resource constraints.

     

    Job Summary
    HICOR is seeking a full-time project coordinator to coordinate research and administrative activities related to HICOR’s engagement with regional collaborators—including the Annual Value in Cancer Care Summit, HICOR’s community-based research portfolio, and management of the HICOR data asset—a healthcare utilization and cost database which serves as a foundation for our work. We are seeking a highly organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.

     

    Under general supervision, the coordinator works independently in performing daily responsibilities, referring project issues to managers and investigators as necessary. Special skills and knowledge are applied in coordinating research and administrative activities, developing research and administrative materials and in carrying out complex research assignments. Multi-tasking, excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to produce high-quality work within a collaborative team are critical to this position.

    Responsibilities

    Partnership and Community Engagement
    Responsibilities related to the Value in Cancer Care (VCC) Initiative

     

    HICOR's VCC Initiative engages oncology providers, patient partners, payers, health system representatives and researchers to improve the value and efficiency of cancer care delivery in Washington state. These community members contribute to HICOR's research and performance reporting initiatives through the VCC Working Groups and the annual VCC Summit.

    • Serve as coordinator for the annual life cycle of the Value in Cancer Care Summit held at Bell Harbor International Conference Center
    • Schedule and organize regular project status and community working group meetings, preparing and distributing minutes, agendas and other materials
    • Coordinate administrative activitiesin support of HICOR’s annual, public Community Cancer Care Report
    • Coordinate outreach activities in support of new projects and initiatives
    • Coordinate research projects that utilize the VCC network of regional cancer care delivery systems as directed by faculty and senior project staff
    • Engage stakeholders in HICOR’s regional projects and initiatives, staying current with cancer care issues of importance to stakeholders
    • Performs other responsibilities as required


    Data Asset Initiatives

    • Develop, track and maintain HICOR data repository use requests and consent forms
    • Track and maintain Master Internal Review and Data Use Agreement files
    • Perform other tasks related to study data management operations, as required

     

    Research Support

    • Draft portions of articles and manuscripts as required
    • Coordinate submission of manuscripts, abstracts and posters
    • Coordinate reminders for relevant publication deadlines, grant deadlines, collaboration efforts and other projects as directed
    • Assist with preparation of PowerPoint presentations, including text, preparation and insertion of figures, graphs, charts, and tables. Final editing of content and design for continuity
    • Complete IRB application and renewal processes, ensuring that materials are compiled and submitted in accordance with guidelines and that all deadlines are met
    • Coordinate research activities, attend study meetings, track and monitor action items to ensure all projects and tasks are completed according to project/study timelines
    • Performs other responsibilities as required

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • BA/BS in related field preferred.
    • Minimum of three years post-bachelor's project coordination experience in a research setting
    • High level of attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment
    • Ability to organize multiple projects and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment
    • High level knowledge of Microsoft applications, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook are required. Knowledge of EndNote is a plus.
    • Ability to professionally represent the HICOR to external and internal collaborators

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with IRB/human subjects protection
    • Event and conference planning
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple organizations
    • Integrity and pride in work product
