The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), located in Seattle, Washington, is part of a dynamic collaboration among three organizations known nationally and internationally for their patient care and research: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, University of Washington, and Seattle Children's. Over the past 25 years, these institutions have worked together to support their mission of adult and pediatric oncology patient care services, research and education.
As a pharmacy technician in this position, you will be interacting with patients and healthcare providers. This technician is responsible for data entry of the medication list into the electronic medical record which will include order entry of prescriptions into the outpatient pharmacy computer and assist in filling of new prescriptions or refills including cashiering. This role requires excellent communication skills and ability to work independently to accurately maintain electronic patient medication records. As the technician in this role you will perform a variety of technical pharmaceutical tasks in the outpatient pharmacy.
This job may also be responsible for routinely compounding and distributing medication and pharmaceutical supplies in IV admixture distribution areas, in accordance with facility standards and procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintaining inventory control of pharmaceuticals including Pyxis refilling may also be required. All work is performed under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and pharmacy technician supervisor.
